TEACHING ACROSS PROFICIENCY LEVELS

Levels can be defined in three such as beginning, intermediate, and advanced. Now, teachers have some guidelines, which are useful to develop the topics and the tasks for every level because teachers have to organized what they are going to teach and evaluate. Teachers cannot teach beginners something that is for intermediate level because students are not going to understand the topic.

Basic level: in the first day students are vey dependent on the teacher for models of language, the teacher is like the center of the classroom because students are focused in what he says. The teacher has to articulate his English and very important to speak slowly for an easier comprehension. Teacher can use techniques, but those techniques should be short and simple.

Intermediate level: students have developed some of their abilities of learning the target language, so the teacher has to apply different teaching methods in the class. Teacher has to dare students ask questions; make comments during the class to their own learning. The teacher is able to use more advanced word according to the level.

Advanced level: students have developed not only their reading and listening comprehension but also their fluency in speaking. Techniques can be like group debates and argumentation, complex role-plays, scanning and skimming reading material. 

TEACHING ACROSS AGE LEVELS

We have to know the way and what are we going to teach to our learners because we cannot teach something that is understandable for students because of their ages and level. We have to look for a correct way to teach in every level. We have to consider that teaching children is not the same as teaching teens, there are many different things. that a teacher has to take in count to develop the class.

Teaching children: it is more difficult because you have to take in count the way that they act and what they interested in. You have to apply some especial techniques in the classroom to develop the topic. To teach children a second language requires specifics skills and intuitions, which are intellectual development, sensory input, and affective factors. Those categories may help to teaching children.

Teaching teens: You have to consider the ages range (12-18) and that all of the rules of adult teaching sometimes apply. Teens are an age of transition, growing, changing bodies and minds, their opinions and thoughts are very different. This is a challenge for the teacher.

What i liked from my presentation

What i liked from my presentation

I liked the new vocabulary because there ara a lot of word or phrases that we don't know, and they are very useful in English languaje for having a better fluency in speaking.

What I could have improved

Well, I could have improved the way that I presented my method because it was with a video and I had a problem with the projector and the computer. So, I should have printed the conversation to have it as a plan B.

Did I feel comfortable?

Not really because my classmate could not watch the way in which the words are used. The thing is that I could not developed the complete activity.

What I think about the activities that my classmates presented

I really liked them. they were interesting, especially Cristy's activity because we had to imagine something special then share what we imagine.

i like this method because it teaches foreign language, and we will be able to understand and produce new phrases as "chunks". This method shows you a lot of meaningful vocabulary that we have to learn it for understanding and speaking more native-like. We as students have to make an effort for learning and this method focuses taht we have to abandon the idea of teacher as a knower, and start to look for our own information using the computer to surf to the internet and check some material that is able online or using some books. I think this method is a good one for improving our vocabulary when we are trying to learn the foreign language.

What I understand from the other method (cognitive approach).

Cgnitive approach is a method which deals with mental processes, when we are studying we focus on the understanding of information and concepts. When we are able to understand the connection between concepts and break down the information, our underdstanding will increase. This method naturally works well with students who are English language learners. For this method we have to read a lot and pay attention to the details that we read because that is the way that we memorize and learn new vocabulary.

I like this quote because it says that teachers share their knowledge with all of us to show us the way that we have to take for being successful in life. we have been learning at the school from the teachers since we were children until now that we are at the University. We have come making mistakes in our life but they have taught us a lot of thins and have to improve what we do, for example: how to write, to read, the way to talk each other for being a better person in society to get a good job . 

They with their didactic teach us how education has improved around the world, how education has developed in each country, about our culture, and technology for having a knowledge about the stuff that we are going to use.

Teachers are the ones that teach all the professions for that reason they have to learned very well their profession they have to love it. That is the most importan thing in any major the love to your major because if you don't, you will never try to do your best.

Nevertheless, we are the only ones that can get all that we want but we have to do our best to make things turn out right and could get everything, and also you have to put in practice all that you have learned from the teachers, remember they always teach things that are very useful in life. Teacher show us the way to apply in jobs that we want to have but we have to wish to get it.

So think and be positive in life and you will be successful. Nonetheless, make an effort, hit the books and never give up even if the things are hard and harder, remember that nothing is impossible in life and we can get all that we want.
